The concept of an indoor ‘park’ is a continuation of the existing Garden Eateries food offering and outdoor garden themes.
Different forms of play are introduced to provide children with choice via a central pebbled pathway - A Reading Tree allows for quiet/relaxing time, and playful; more active elements are dotted throughout i.e. Spun chairs, a bespoke food truck and LED glowing suspended chairs.
Materials and finishes were chosen for their connection to nature and composed to reference Tauranga Crossing’s surroundings – the Kaimai Ranges. The journey through the space is further enhanced through our collaboration with Croft Studio to use graphics as an opportunity to educate children on native flora, fauna, animals and the Maori language.
The end result is an interactive, fun and safe space for parents to stop and take a break, whilst watching their children play. As a tenancy, the flexible and reusable element enables the Centre to relocate and re-purpose with ease.
